produced by the Snowmass

Western Heritage Association

(SWHA), founded in 2003 to

preserve and enhance the

western heritage, culture and

character of Snowmass Village

and the Roaring Fork Valley

community. As Aspen,

Snowmass Village and the

Roaring Fork Valley continue to

be developed, it’s easy to lose

sight of our roots. While the

silver miners were the original

settlers of Aspen, ranchers and

farmers who settled Snowmass

Village and the valley beyond in

the late 1800s and early 1900s.
